what are some examples of ignorance during childhood in To Kill a Mocking Bird?

I am righting a paper on To Kill a Mocking Bird. This is my thesis: In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mocking Bird, childhood is depicted as a time of freedom, ignorance, and curiosity.

Just my first thoughts:
-Ignorance (but not in a negative way, I suppose) to race and issues between the races. Scout couldn’t understand why the white mean at the jail wanted to hurt Tom Robinson. She couldn’t understand why Atticus defending Tom was such a big deal.
Maybe ignorant about Boo Radley. Confused about why he didn’t come out.
Hopefully helpful somewhat. Just some ideas. Good luck. I love To Kill A Mockingbird.

Scout didn’t understand about racism at the time (e.g why atticus wanted to defend tom robinson, and why other people thought less of him for doing so)
